When we chose Wild Honey from the Moon to be the book for our January box, we asked author Kenneth Kraegel what he liked to make with honey. He said he makes his very own granola and that he loves it! This recipe is our own, but we have a feeling Mr. Kraegel just might like it, too.
Granola is a great recipe to make with kids; measuring all the ingredients into one big bowl and giving it a good stir is something they are quite good at. It's also one of the most versatile recipes we know of. Change out the nuts, swap in different grains, toss some citrus zest or dried fruit into the mix once it's out of the oven and you have yourself a fresh take on an old favorite. Experiment and discover what flavors your family likes best.
